The Universal Service Fund will be handing over $20,000,000 to the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica (PBCJ) on Friday, December 17 at the PBCJ Offices, 5-9 Odeon Avenue, Kingston 10 starting at 11:00 am.
 
The funding is to support the creation of a second educational channel dedicated to delivering educational programming to Jamaicans on a 24/7 basis.

The Institute of Jamaica will host its annual Musgrave Medal Award virtually on Friday, December 31 at 3:00pm. The event will be broadcasted on PBCJ and the IOJ's YouTube channel.

Once more, we recognize ten (10) distinguished Jamaicans who will receive awards for their contribution to Literature, Science and the Arts.

This year, the Gold Medals will be presented to: Prof. Ishion Hutchinson in the field of Literature, Prof. Mona Webber in the field of Science and Mr. Steven Woodham, OD, in the field of Music.
The Silver Medals will be awarded to: Prof. Mark Harris in the field of Science, Prof. Shara McCallum in the field of Literature and Mr. James “Jimmy” Tucker, CD in the field of Music.
Bronze Medals will be conferred on Mrs. Veronica Blake-Carnegie in the field of Literature, Mr. Fitzroy Russell in the field of Art and Mr. Hawthorne Watson for Science.
This year’s youth category awardee is Mr. Sujae Hugh Boswell for excellence in Youth Advocacy and Leadership.
