Description:
The legacy and heroics of Chief Takyi (also Tacky) will be celebrated with a civic ceremony in Port Maria, St. Mary, on National Chief Takyi Day, April 8.
The event has been held annually since the proclamation of the national observance by Governor-General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen, in 2022 and will take place at the Claude Stuart Park under the theme ‘The Spirit of Chief Takyi Never Forgotten’.
