Alpharians at F&B Downtown
Kingston’s Alpha Boys School is best known as the institution which graduated the majority of the most impressive musicians for close to a hundred years in Jamaica.
Their names are legendary. Don Drummond, Tommy McCook, Dizzy Johnny Moore, and Lester Sterling, were original members of the legendary Skatalites.
Many others including Joe Harriott, Dizzy Reece, Wilton Gaynair, and Harold McNair established themselves among the jazz greats abroad.
Affectionately referred to as Alpharians, these musicians have played in every conceivable style of music over the span of time since the school’s inception.
This current group sf Alpharians are carrying on the tradition with admirable musical ability.
