For 286 years, the people of Moore Town have preserved and celebrated the proud legacy of Chieftainess Grandy Nanny, Jamaica’s only female National Hero. In 2025, families, friends, and members of the global community are invited to gather in Moore Town for three days of cultural reflection and renewal under the theme “Guardians of the Land: Honouring Our Ancestral Legacy.”
The Grandy Nanny Day Celebrations are more than an event—they represent a homecoming, a cultural revival, and a powerful opportunity to share ancestral knowledge and traditions with future generations.
