Fern Gully

Ocho Rios
Description:

One of Jamaica’s natural wonders. Fern Gully is a scenic 3-mile stretch of Highway that winds through a rocky gorge filled with different varieties of ferns (Jamaica has the world's largest number of fern species, more than 570) overhung by tall trumpet and mahoe trees that meet overhead filtering the sunlight to create a cool rain forest along the course of an old riverbed.

Along the road through the gully are many craft stalls; some of which sell fine examples of Jamaican woodwork and sculpture, others of which sell contemporary and amusing sculpted caricatures.
