The Backhand Factory - Junior Tennis Championship 2025

The Backhand Factory will host the Open Junior Tennis Championship 2025 from September 19 to 21 at the Eric Bell Tennis Centre, located at 2A Piccadilly Road, Kingston. This all-white tennis event begins at 9 a.m. each day and welcomes boys and girls competing in the U12, U14, and U16 categories, divided into Groups A and B.

Young athletes will have the opportunity to showcase their passion for the sport, sharpen their skills, and connect with fellow players in a competitive yet supportive environment. As a UTR verified event, participants will gain valuable experience and ranking recognition.

The registration fee is $2,500 per event, with the entry deadline set for September 15, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

Tennis enthusiasts are encouraged to register early and be part of this exciting championship.

Sickle Cell Awareness Month Blood Drive

In observance of Sickle Cell Awareness Month, a blood drive will be held to support individuals living with sickle cell disease and promote awareness of the condition.

The event will provide an opportunity for members of the public to donate blood and contribute to a vital cause.

The blood drive aims to raise awareness about sickle cell disease, encourage community participation in lifesaving donations, and support patients who rely on regular blood transfusions.

Health professionals and volunteers will be on site to guide donors through the process and provide information about sickle cell disease and its impact on the Jamaican community.
