CARAIA in partnership with the Development Bank of Jamaica will hold an Investment Forum as a Tech Beach Retreat, December 4-6 in Montego Bay at the Secret's Resort. The Forum will feature peer-to-peer exchange on investing in technology-driven businesses. CARAIA says the objective is to lead businesses to outsized profits and eventual exits, especially IPOs on the JSE.
Tech Beach will also include a startup showcase and hybrid accelerator program, led by Google for Startups. Startups at the Forum will receive free resources from these companies.
CARAIA says the JSE listing of Edufocal, Dolla, and One on One has prompted other innovative companies to seek that path. The Association says its strong pipeline of entrepreneurs are participating and Google for Startups and Techstars are helping to prepare them for investment.
