The oldest standing ecclesiastical structure in the Colonial Empire outside of the United Kingdom, it was built in 1525. It was destroyed twice, first in 1665 by English soldiers and then in 1712 by a hurricane. It was rebuilt by the Anglican Church in 1714. Today, the Cathedral stands proudly in Spanish Town as a spiritual guider where there are services and devotions open to anyone.
