LET’S HAVE SAFE FUN AT OUR DIAMOND JUBILEE

This year Jamaica celebrates 60 years of independence under the theme Reigniting a Nation for Greatness. People here and in the Diaspora plan to mark this milestone with festivities of all kinds. These include church services, street parades, fun fairs, concerts, beach parties, beauty pageants and a host of other activities that will culminate with the Grand Gala in the National Stadium. Clearly, people have put the pandemic behind them even as new Covid-19 variants
emerge.

The biggest cheerleader for these celebrations is Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment
and Sport, Hon. Olivia Grange. “The celebration of the Diamond Jubilee is time to reflect; it’s a
time to redouble our efforts towards making Jamaica, land we love, a country of peace,
harmony, equality, justice, liberty and prosperity. It is also a time to celebrate.”
